Very comfortable, not many cabins (and not many people)
we splash out on this boat trip as it was our aniversary while we were in vietnam. the boat was wonderful, the staff so friendly and attentive to our every need and want. it was my husbands birthday while on the trip and they made a cake. the foods was amazing a real highlight of the trip. if you are going to halong bay which you must when in vietnam, spend that little bit extra and go with paradise cruises.
I really liked the cruise and wished we could have spent more time on the cruise. We got to cruise the Bay, see Sung Sot cave and climb one of the mountains. The food was great. We luckily got a free upgrade to a deluxe room. The only thing that I thought was the pickup as a little pricey at $40 a person.
We took a two night, three day cruise with Paradise Cruises. An experience of a life time and an absolute must do when in Vietnam. If it's not already, put it on your bucket list! The bay itself is just stunning and deserves it place as one of the new Seven Natural Wonders of the World; not to mention the incredible caves inside the limestone karst. We cruised on Paradise Luxury. All paradise cruises depart from their own private jetty, so you are welcomed with a cool drink and are completely relaxed by the time you board your junk. We booked a suite and were greeted with a bottle of bubbles on arrival in our room. The room also had a private balcony, and ensuite with bath. The food and service on board was impeccable! Our cruise included a visit to Cat Ba island where we cycled through a small village and walked through the jungle and into some caves that were used as hideouts during the war. We also visited a floating fishing village and did some kayaking around the bay. Those who wished could rise early and enjoy a tai chi session on the sun deck at sunrise; conversely cocktails under the starry skies at night were fantastic! Halong Bay is just magnificent and experiencing it with Paradise Cruises makes it sure to be an experience you will never forget
This stunning archipelago of islands with spectacular caves, hidden lagoons, gorgeous beaches, boat villages and shear cliffs richly deserves is World Heritag Site status. Its beauty is breathtaking. We had the privilage of exploring this island group in luxury on a large traditional junk. Our 2 day adventure was simply amazing. We had to pich ourselves to believe that it was even real or were w in a King Kong or Bond movie? No much, much better than that we were cruising, climbing, swimming, dining and sipping drnks on deck as we watched to sun set in this heavenly bay. This was living the dream.
We went on a 3 days Paradise cruise in December 2011. This one is one of the most expensive cruises and it felt like we were getting what we paid for. First of all, the trip starts not from Ha Long city but from the harbor which is 40 km before - which means that you spend less time on the road and the first part of sailing is more pleasant. the group was small and the trip very well organized - this is important as the schedule is quite tight and if the organization is bad or if someone is late you don't get enough time for the activities. the program was very diverse - we visited 2 caves, a small island with fantastic view on the bay, Cat Ba island with biking/walking. On the 2nd day we also went to a remote part of the bay with almost no other boats and got time for kayaking - the best experience! I've seen other groups kayaking in the most crowded part of the bay where all the junks are - no comparison at all! The food was delicious, we had a seafood bbq for dinners which included oysters, shrimps and fish - everything fresh from the bay. We had a suite with jacuzzi - huge for being a boat room and very comfy. From the lightly negative points - the activities on the 2nd day finished a bit too early - I felt like we could have visited more places, also during the third day the boat arrives to the harbor earlier than it's written in the schedule. You have to pay for the drinks but they provide plenty of water for free and also you can buy beer from the "shop" boats - there are plenty around. Conclusion – if you’re not on a very tight budget – book this one as it’s really worth it!
We spent a 3 day tour with Paradise last week. It was totally awesome! I just couldn’t believe they could make an outstanding tourism excavation in this place with first class services and professional attitudes from the beginning until the end. There were many cruises at the harbor and around the place when we traveled but they keep the water very clean, not a single litter found in the area. The bay was spectacular and extremely beautiful, a natural wonder indeed. We still talk about the trip until now, about the energy and the calmness of this place. We partied and had a lot of drinking every night during the stay but in the next morning, the atmosphere cooled us down and we were all refreshed for a new day full of fun
I couldn't believe that we were sailing in a fairy tale, watching the giant rocks/islands as we pass between them. Serenity, peace and the beauty of the landscape touched my soul. I understand why Halong Bay was chosen as one of the new 7 wonders. And I feel lucky to be there at the exact date it was announced. Visited December 2011
